Saturday, December 18 at 6 pm, within the activities of the project Arché, which includes the solo exhibition of Romina Bassu and a set of activities of interaction with the communities of the territory, AlbumArte presents the debate entitled Violence on women. Re-victimisation in the media and the courts, directed and coordinated by Daniela Trincia, who already directs for AlbumArte the project Donne (non più) anonime. Conversation on femicide.

In the numerous daily actions to fight feminicide, by professional associations and feminist activism, the particular commitment to hinder the re-victimisation of women, is an urgent and important focus, because it is still very frequent that, in cases of violence against women, during the complaint or in court, It is still very frequent that, in cases of violence against women, the focus is shifted from the offender to the woman, holding her responsible for not being sufficiently assertive, for provoking the offender’s violent statements with inappropriate attitudes or clothing, or for not paying special attention to the care of her children.

This re-victimisation is acquiring increasingly aberrant forms in the language used and in the decisions taken by judges, who often remove minors from their mothers’ care, even going so far as to assign them to violent fathers or force them to be taken away.

It is in order to define the current state of affairs that professional women who fight against this new form of violence against women on a daily basis have been involved in this meeting. They expose the issue through their personal professional experience in this umpteenth battle to defend women against the overbearing male power, starting from the use of words and their deep meanings. Because words, fundamental for defining thoughts, activate those necessary cultural changes in our society, still strongly male chauvinist and patriarchal.

Speakers: Simona Ammerata – feminist and civil rights activist, founding member of Lucha y Siesta, Arianna Bussoletti – media researcher, Flavia Posabella – psychologist – systemic-relational family and developmental age psychotherapist.
