On Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 3:30 PM, Casa degli Artisti in Milan and AlbumArte in Rome will present, in the Talk Area of Casa degli Artisti, the event When in Rome. Beyond the boundaries of the Skin, as part of the itinerant project When in Rome, curated by Adriana Polveroni, produced by AlbumArte, under the direction of Cristina Cobianchi, and funded by the Regione Lazio through the public call Lazio Contemporaneo 2022.
The discussion will feature curator Adriana Polveroni, artists Guglielmo Maggini and Pietro Moretti—two of the main figures of the exhibition in Rome, running from November 18, 2024, to January 4, 2025—as well as representatives of recent activities at Casa degli Artisti: Irene Biolchini, Christian Gangitano, Cecilia Guida, and Valentina Kastlunger.
The theme of the talk and exhibition revolves around the findings of research conducted by Cristina Cobianchi and Adriana Polveroni on young talents under the age of 35 working in Rome. These artists primarily operate in suburban areas, utilizing spaces such as disused factories, old garages, and disused artisan studios. Often collaborating with young curators, they are reshaping the artistic fabric and energy of the capital through their innovative practices. Their work reflects an exploration of the contemporary and encourages a multi-voiced dialogue.
