Martin Kollár

Martin Kollár was born in 1971 in Žilina, Czechoslovakia (now Slovak Republic). He studied at the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava and has been working as a freelance photographer and cinematographer since he graduated. He has received several grants and awards, including the Prix Elysee and the Oskar Barnack Award.  His work has been exhibited across the world, including Judisches Museum, Berlin (2018), European Center for Arts, Poland (2017), Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv – Israel (2015), MOCA Shanghai, China (2008), Maison Européenne de la Photographie Paris – France (2007), Guandong Museum of Art in China (2005), Martin Gropius Bau Berlin, Germany (2004), Rencontres d’ Arles in France (2003).He has published several photography books like Nothing Special (2008), Cahier (2011) Field Trip (MACK, 2013) Catalogue (Slovak National Gallery, 2015) Provisional arrangement (Mack/ Musee Elyse 2016).
