AlbumArte is pleased to host, in an exclusive preview in Rome from 20 to 25 November 2025, MUPA – The Patriarchy Museum, an immersive exhibition by ActionAid curated by Stormi. The exhibition transports us into the recent past — that of 20th- and 21st-century patriarchal Italy — to closely observe the traces of a sexist social and power structure built on the discrimination and oppression of marginalised identities.
Authentic artefacts, artworks and testimonies recreate the atmosphere of the 2020s, exploring family dynamics, gender stereotypes and normalised violence. It is a journey through the objects, gestures and words that shaped patriarchal culture and fuelled male violence against women, reminding us how necessary it is for this to become a definitively closed chapter of history.
As part of the exhibition — open every day, all day, including Sunday (closed on Saturday 22 November to join the demonstration against violence against women) — talks, workshops and live events will be held, featuring leading voices in feminist activism, founders of specialist associations and shelters, actors performing thematic monologues, communicators and journalists.
The FULL PROGRAMME is available at actionaid.it/mupa.
