In his artistic career, Adrian Paci (b. Shkodër, 1969) slipped between a variety of techniques: from the most traditional such as painting and mosaic, to the most current and innovative such as installations, performances and videos. In his work – fed on a deep familiarity with the History of Art – the observation of the social dynamics of the present, the attention to the symbolic density of gestures, and an interest in the interpretative possibilities of images, coexist together. At the same time, in Adran Paci’s work it is possible to read the entire history of man. It’s about sober, intimate and solemn gestures which are capable of becoming exemplary, by virtue of an ancient and profound matrix. In these gestures, it is possible to identify the emotional and cultural substratum that brings men together as a minimum common denominator. After studying painting at the Academy of Art of Tirana, in 1997 he moved to Milan where he lives and works. Throughout his career he held numerous solo shows in various international institutions such as: Galerie Peter Kilchmann, Zurich, Switzerland (2020); MAXXI – National Museum of Arts of XXI Century (2019); Brigham Young University Museum of Art, New York (2018); Museo Novecento in Florence (2017); MAXXI Museum (2015); MAC, Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal (2014); Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea – PAC, Milan (2014); Jeu de Paume, Paris (2013); National Gallery of Kosovo, Prishtina (2012); Kunsthaus Zurich, Zurich (2010); Bloomberg Space, London (2010); The Center for Contemporary Art – CCA, Tel Aviv (2009); Museum am Ostwall, Dortmund (2007); MoMA PS1, New York (2006) and Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (2005).
